So as I have been searching for jobs I have come across but one good local resource for ministry in the area and it is called Standing Together. Standing Together (ST) is an organization in the northern Utah area that seeks to be a catalyst for evangelical fellowship. So far it looks it is he most organized community of believers in the area outside of the regular para-church communities such as Youth For Christ, Inter Varsity Fellowship, and Campus Crusades for Christ. But what is a little more unique about ST is that it partners with churches all across the Wasatch Front to create an interwoven network of communities where pastors can have semi-regular meetings and where college age peeps, like myself, can fellowship together with people outside of their regular church community. I look forward to finding out more about the organization and hope that I might be able to get involved in what they are doing in the area. It is so nice to see believers working together to forward the gospel despite denominational differences
Oh yeah there is also a seminary that just became ATS accredited here. It is none other than Salt Lake Theological Seminary. You should check it out if you are looking to move into the area to do ministry or are just looking for a seminary in the Inter Mountain West.
